Our membership is open to all women eighteen and older, with Junior/Student memberships of $25.00 available to those thirteen to seventeen. Regular annual memberships are $35.00, Senior memberships (60 years and older) are $25.00 and Life memberships are $350.00. Members receive at least one monthly newsletter by either email or post, special invitations to participate in national events, special offers and travel opportunities. Membership is required for participation in all firearm tournaments. (Please see firearm rules and regulations below for further details.) We welcome families, husbands and friends to participate in many of our other events, and will be designated as such in the event details. We do not discriminate against race, color, creed, sex, age or handicap. It is our desire to see all people feel safe in their communities, no matter where that community may be. And that all people are treated with dignity. Absolutely no type of discrimination will be tolerated in connection with our chapters, events or organization. All our members and their guests are required to conduct themselves with dignity and honor. This is required for participation in our organization, but is essential to the highest quality of everyday life. Drugs, alcohol, or any illegal substance is strictly banned from all aspects of our organization, and use of such will result in immediate expulsion from our membership. |

In order to participate in any type of firearm training or tournaments, you must be a citizen of the United States and legally allowed to own a firearm. Participation in self defense training and seminars are open to all members, as well as the public; but persons that are under any type of restraining order and/or have a criminal record are restricted from all these events. Contact our national office if you have questions regarding this strictly enforced rule. Safety is our foremost concern in the area of firearms. All firearms are to be unloaded and locked open before entering any range or shooting area. There are no exceptions. Only on-duty law enforcement and military are exempt from this rule. Magazines are to be unloaded and removed from all firearms. Eye and ear protection are also required any time a member is on a shooting range or area. Your eyes and your hearing can be severely and irreversibly damaged while carelessly using a firearm without these essentials. Also, it is recommended that you consider types of clothing that will deter possible problems while using a gun or rifle. Low necklines can allow a hot bullet casing to enter clothing and burn or cut the skin. Some type of hat or visor is recommended for sun protection as well as casing discharges. Women Taking Aim assumes no responsibility in the event that injury occurs due to negligence and disregard of these rules. WTA follows the firearm safety guidelines of the National Rifle Association: always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction, always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot, and always keep the gun unloaded until ready to use. Know your target and what is beyond. Be sure the gun is safe to operate. Know how to use the gun safely. Use only the correct ammunition for your gun. Absolutely no controlled substances are allowed at any firearm tournament or WTA organizational event. Discovery of such will result in immediate expulsion from the organization. Use of such substances before attending an event will also result in immediate expulsion. As stated above, any form of discrimination will not be tolerated by this organization. Should you be the victim of such discrimination, be it by a member or range owner, it should be reported immediately to the national office. Sexual advances made by anyone associated with the range or club should be reported to chapter and national officers in a detailed manner. Each will be stringently reviewed and our rules enforced; by both each chapter and the national office. |

These are some of the basic rules, but each member should receive a Rules and Guidelines booklet. If you do not have a booklet, please contact us so that we may provide you with one. |
